With BOE, my country has become NO.1 in this field for the first time

[Summary description] Until the beginning of the 21st century, my country has not been able to independently produce an LCD screen, and all rely on imports. Until 2003, BOE started to build the first LCD production line in mainland China by relying on its own technology, filling the gap in the domestic TFT-LCD display industry and ending the "era of no independent LCD screens" in mainland China. Before that, because the key technology of LCD panels was controlled by a few foreign companies, China spent nearly 40 billion US dollars to import LCD panels every year, ranking second only to chips, crude oil and iron ore.

As of 2020, BOE has accumulated over 70,000 available patents. Among the new annual patent applications, over 90% are invention patents and over 35% are overseas patents, covering the United States, Europe, Japan, South Korea and other countries and regions. The US patent service agency IFI Claims released the 2020 US patent authorization statistics report. BOE's global ranking jumped to 13th, with 2,144 US patent authorizations, ranking among the global TOP20 for three consecutive years; BOE has been listed in the World Intellectual Property Organization ( WIPO) ranks among the top ten patents in the world.
